Part III: Boost Your Content with a DIY Approach to Drones

This session is the final chapter of the “Boost Your Content” series with a discussion on Drones and their use n A/E/C marketing. Using drones to take aerial photos and video of your projects can add yet another dimension on how you show projects. Taking off from where the June SMPS virtual program on videography left off, this session will provide an overview of how to add aerial photography and video to your marketing team’s capabilities. In addition, the session will cover the FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone pilot license test and other special training needs.

Phillip Quindara, a fully licensed FAA commercial drone pilot, will discuss the benefits of adding drone capabilities to your organization. The team will highlight marketing campaigns created using their “in-house” DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone and will show you exactly what you need to get started. The discussion will start with an overview of recommended drones and their cost for use in A/E/C marketing. The team will cover all special requirements, licensing and insurance needs to operate a drone. Questions will be encouraged to create a dialogue as much as possible.

Learning Objectives:
- Determine exactly how much you need to budget for to add a drone to your photography equipment suite
- Understand the basics of planning and coordinating your own drone photo/video shoot. Learn where you can and can’t fly a drone.
- Learn the basics about flying a drone with a an overview of CSArch’s DJI Mavic Pro 2 Drone.
- Key tips about the best ways to photograph and video athletic fields, campuses and buildings using a drone
