Virtual Reality (VR) is currently in a transition phase in the A/E/C industry; it is recognized more than a trend, but it’s not yet a standard for A/E/C firm's workflow. While the incorporation of VR into A/E/C has already begun, the options for immersion levels, user interfaces, and places for it in the project workflow can easily overwhelm the uninitiated and discourage A/E/C firms from adopting it early on. To save other A/E/C members time and frustration, our team is merging their experiences with various systems and VR programs with a live demonstration of what a good VR experience looks like to create a presentation that will:

  • Familiarize attendees with the world of Virtual Reality as it relates to the A/E/C industry and beyond,
  • Advise attendees on how to incorporate it into project workflow and marketing materials, depending on their goals for the technology,
  • Inform attendees about expectations and best practices when using it with both clients and other firm members.

Presenters will also pose questions to the audience and respond to their answers.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, audience members will be able to:

  • Communicate the benefits of Virtual Reality clearly and effectively to their firm's management and staff.
  • Navigate the jargon surrounding the Virtual Reality Industry to discover what their firm needs to use it effectively.
  • Incorporate Virtual Reality into their firm's project workflow and marketing materials, based on their goals for the technology.
  • Guide both clients and fellow firm members through their initial uses of Virtual Reality to ensure the best possible experience.
