Join a committee

Align your strengths and availability with a committee that is right for you. Members that are actively involved with a committee experience greater rewards from the organization. Volunteering on a committee is an excellent way to expand your network and develop strong relationships with fellow SMPS Upstate New York members.  We are always looking for enthusiastic members to join the following committees, and our board is also open to considering the development of other committees if a need is expressed by our membership.

Education/Programs Committee
Coordinating programs and speakers is a critical part of bringing value to our members.  On the Programs Committee, you will work with the Education Director to cover the needs for vetting and scheduling speakers, venues, menus, and any technology needs to make a program run smoothly. The program committee stays in contact with speakers and provides bio, location, time, and date information to our Communications Director for promotion of the program.

Membership Committee
Maintaining responsiveness and engagement with our members is an important part of helping colleagues experience the benefits of SMPS.  The Membership Committee assists the Membership Director with member outreach including welcoming new members, celebrating member anniversaries, being a point of contact for any questions or inquiries, and maintaining the online database of members and non-members to be sure the Chapter roster is accurate.
